Marissa Pike, Board Member
Marissa Pike was born in New Orleans and entered foster care at age 12, spending the next 10
years navigating a system shaped by instability, homelessness, and the impact of her parents’
struggles with addiction and mental illness. Out of that hardship came a deep sense of purpose.
In 2023, she became a foster parent, determined to use her story to create change. Since then,
she has fostered over 160 children and is currently in the process of adopting two.
She holds degrees in Early Childhood Education and Criminal Justice, along with a certificate in
Developmental Disabilities.
Her advocacy extends beyond the home, as she serves on the
board of Gifted Crate, volunteers as a foster care reviewer, works as a first responder, and gives
back to her community in every way she can.
She believes there’s nothing easy in life that’s truly good. Yet the rewards of healing, love, and
purpose that have come from her journey are greater than any of the struggles she’s endured.
